Iranian Pistachio Association Commercial Committee: According to Iranian Customs statistics, 16,000 tons of pistachio nuts and pistachio kernels were exported in march. The export weight in this month was 45 percent higher than in march of the previous year. Re-export markets (UAE and Turkey), Commonwealth countries, and the Indian subcontinent, respectively, accounted for the largest share of Iranian pistachio exports in this month.
According to the association’s estimates, of the total inventory of 230,000 tons of dried pistachios in shell at the beginning of the period, 165,000 tons were consumed from the beginning of October to the end of march; of this amount, 144,000 tons were exported and it is estimated that 21,000 tons of pistachios were sold inside Iran. The product balance at the end of march 2025 is estimated to be 65,000 tons of dried pistachios in shell.
The weight ratio of cumulative consumption by the end of march to the beginning of the period was 72 percent, indicating prosperity.
